GTT: April Q&A

GTT: April Q&A

We haven’t had a Q&A since Hello Baby, which is nuts!

I asked for questions on Instagram Stories last weekend and below are the most asked questions.  Be sure to read through to see if your question was answered and you got a shout out. ?

q&a

Will you and Matt be putting out any toddler updates on Hello Baby anytime soon? @zandruamf2

This question is asked constantly.  It makes my heart so happy to know that we have such solid fans of our podcast!  We’ve been talking about bringing the podcast back a lot lately.  I’m not sure what that would look like if we did…  Maybe a couple episodes or perhaps a whole new season?

How do you manage your work/at home life and make sure you have time for family time? @casey_jo11

Oh my goodness, I’m the worst at this.  If you notice, sometimes I’ll go absent on social media for a few days, and that’s usually when I have realized (i.e. burned out) that I need some solid time with my family.  Balance is something that I desperately want but I’m not sure I’ll ever really achieve.  But I’ll keep trying!

PS- Jen helps me keep Hello Gorgeous going.  I don’t know how I did it before she came to work with me!

Do you diet? How do you keep your figure? @theevangelinefoster

I don’t diet.  I’m currently the heaviest I’ve ever been (except pregnancy, of course).  But I’m also the calmest and happiest that I’ve been postpartum.  Instead of dieting, I’m trying to stop eating after dinner.  I’ve developed a terrible habit of snacking in bed and I think that’s one of the worst things you can do since the food just sits in your gut while you sleep.  I’ve also started back up on my workout routine, so I’m hoping to tone up quickly.

What is your must have essential clothing items? @gabbyy_xox

I feel like this would make a great YouTube video, no?  Three things off the top of my head:

A pair of jeans that make your butt look great.

A pair of heels that go with any outfit.

A solid blazer for when you want to look polished.

What is the greatest life lesson your mom has ever taught you growing up and as an adult? @ubobo66

How can you choose only one?!

Be slow to speak.  I rarely get this one right.  My mom is not one to give her two cents about anything unless asked.  She never wants to sway your decision, which I think is so wise.

Also, to slow down and enjoy the process.  It’s so easy nowadays to buy every meal fully prepared or an item that you could have made yourself.  There’s a certain amount of pride that comes with doing things with your own two hands.  I find joy in seeing my family enjoy a meal that I’ve prepared.  I’m loving the quiet mornings working peacefully in my garden.  Dare I say…  I even find pleasure in household chores like sweeping my floors or putting away laundry.  To be productive gives us purpose and that can feel so good.

What keeps you grounded? @thehumbledhomemaker

My family and my relationship with God.

Are you planning on having anymore kids? @jska1992

I would love to have at least one more baby.

How do you keep a strong relationship with God during this difficult time right now? @richardr1997

I start each day out with a devotional.  I try to not allow myself to look at anything on the internet or open my emails until I have had my devotional time.

How many hours a week do you work? Social media, blog, videos…I bet it’s a lot. @courtney_m_c1

Before Kenny, it was between 70-80 hours a week.  Now, I really couldn’t tell you.  I work at home so the only uninterrupted time I have in during naptime, lol.

What have you been reading lately? @ashrholmes

For April, our book club read, “The Woman In The Window” and it was fantastic!  It was so different than anything I would pick out to read myself.

What bible study do you follow? @maeganthibodeau

I’m currently reading through the New Testament using the YouVersion Bible app.  I’m almost into the book of Luke.

What would your career be if you weren’t a blogger? No fashion or beauty either! @brittany_marie_blackburn

I probably would still be in the insurance industry.  I loved my job as a fraud investigator before launching Hello Gorgeous!

How did you and Matt meet? @afnanniyazi

We actually have a podcast episode (two actually!) all about our love story.

What are traits you’d want Kenny to get from you and Matt? @elizabethannhansley

Matt is so smart and funny, I hope she gets both of those traits!

I love to give, so I hope she has a generous heart.

How’s your mental health during this time? @kendallannhoff

It’s actually so good.  I’m not sure if that’s because I’m ready to come off of my meds now (I’m going to start weaning myself off very soon!) or if it’s the slower pace of life.  I’m sure finally being settled in our home helps.

What was your dream job as a kid? @alyssa.keblaitis

I wanted to be a cosmetologist.  I’ve always loved hair and makeup.  In my heart, I knew it would be my job in some capacity, but I could’ve never dreamed of it turning out this way!

Thank you so much for your questions!  I had a lot of fun putting this post together.  Should we bring it back and do a monthly Q&A series?  Let me know in the comments below!

    Hi Angela,
I literally LOVE your podcast so much. I know you guys felt like you did not know what to talk about, but honestly just hearing the week to week updates about you, Matt, and Kenny is enough. You guys are a beautiful family, and there is something that is so relaxing and entertaining about just listening to your updates. By the way, I’m 19 and won’t be a mother anytime soon, but I love hearing about the step-by-step process of what it’s like to raise a child and be a full-on adult. I’ve listened to your podcast since day one, and I usually don’t comment on social media, but I really miss the podcast! Please stay safe and at home 🙂

    • Angela Lanter

Thanks, Simona! I’ve been hearing from so many people that they really miss our podcast. 🙂

  • Hi Angela! love it! I listened to your postcast when it came out (I mean baby Bump..)

Thank you. Stay safe and keep taking care of yourself and your family That’s the more important 😉

We actually went on hiatus in December, so there may not be as many episodes for you to catch up on as you think. 🙂

    Hi Angela,
MacKenlee is as gorgeous as always. She’s starting to look more like you as she gets older. I miss Hello Baby so much. Also please tell your dad that he’s in my prayers I hope he is okay with this virus and his lungs. Your mom was so sweet when I talked to her last year. Also I’m very sorry about my Facebook post in your gorgeous girls group about Star Wars 9 last year. Jenn had every right to delete my post if it was against your rules. I’m sure you guys have forgotten all about it, but I still want to apologize. I was in serious pain from a herniated disc at my low back and could not walk and it made me lash out a lot more than usual. I used alcohol to deal with my pain ?. But I’ve decided to follow your example and stopped drinking and also stopped using social media. I hope you and Jenn can forgive me. At least until I have surgery, which is May 18 at 12:45 at an outpatient center in Timonium, MD. Very nervous about anesthesia and possible complications. If you and Matt could pray for me, that would mean so much to me.

I got a shout out! Thank you for answering! Yes, I’d love this to be monthly! I’d love a new season of Hello Baby podcast! Terrific mom advice! I need to work on not giving advice unless asked. And of course, love all the questions and answers. To be productive gives us purpose, love that so much!

They say to surround yourself with the people whose lives you would love to have and watching you from afar I wish I could be your real life friend. What great vibes you guys give off! But all these avenues of connection sure do help! I’ll be your follower for life *in a not creepy stalker kind of way ?*

    • Angela Lanter
