13 Current Must Have Beauty Products

I’ve been on the move lately.  Actually, I don’t even know where my home is, we’ve moved that many times.  With all this moving business, I’ve realized that there are some things that I don’t ever leave home (wherever that is) without.  I wanted to share a few of my current must-have, holy grail beauty products.

Must Have Beauty Products Angela Lanter Hello Gorgeous

  1. beautyblender.  This magic pink sponge has the power to give you a perfectly flawless finish.  I use my beautyblender to apply my liquid, cream and powder face products.  In fact, I filmed a video about my beautyblender and why I love it so much (watch here).  We traveled to Charleston, SC last weekend, and when we arrived I realized that I forgot all of my makeup brushes except my beautyblender.  I somehow managed to do my makeup all three days with only my bb and q-tips, which got me thinking…  Should I film a travel video/challenge on how I do my makeup when I forget my brushes?  Leave a comment and let me know!
  2. Makeup Eraser.  One of my amazing Gorgeous Girls sent me a Makeup Eraser in the mail and it rocked. my. WORLD.  So much so, that I bought one for both my mom and my mother-in-law.  It’s magic, I tell ya.  It somehow manages to remove every bit of dirt and makeup from your face without having to scrub your skin.
  3. Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder.  Before I apply my beloved Hoola Bronzer or tarte Contour Palette, I first apply this setting powder.  It sets your foundation and helps to prevent oxidation throughout the day.
  4. SkinCeuticals Blemish + Age Defense.  Even one year after coming off birth control, I’m still battling acne issues.  My esthetician recommended Blemish Defense and I’ve been using it to spot treat new break outs.  The results have been awesome so far, which meant I just had to share this product with y’all!
  5.  Clarisonic Mia.  I can’t live without my Clarisonic brush.  I use it on the days I wear makeup, after I remove my makeup, for a deep clean.  Just a reminder ladies, the Clarisonic deeps cleans but it does NOT exfoliate (Refinery 29 talks more about it here).  You still should include exfoliation in your skincare regimen.
  6. Sulwhasoo BB Cushion.  I’m a huge fan of BB creams.  I only wear foundation when I have major skin issues or I’m going to be on camera.  BB Creams provide SPF with light coverage while helping to even out your skin tone.
  7. Laneige Lip Mask.  I can’t go to bed at night unless my skin is clean and my face and lips are properly moisturized.  This lip mask keeps my lips feeling hydrated so I wake up to a smooth, fresh smile.
  8. Clarins Restorative Total Eye Concentrate.  If you watched my Beauty Room/Makeup Collection Tour, then you know I have a lot of makeup and beauty products.  It’s very rare for me to finish an entire bottle of something before moving on to something else.  This eye cream made that rare list.  I loved the way it left my eye area feeling hydrated after each use.
  9. Revlon Ultimate All-In-One Mascara.  This mascara is holy grail for me because it lengthens while plumping your lashes.  It helps hold curl but still separates, all while costing less than $10.
  10. Avene Thermal Spring Water.  I keep this mist on hand to set my makeup or spritz my face throughout the day for a makeup refresh.  It’s great for sensitive skin, especially if you’re suffering from irritation.  I also use it to spritz my face after a mask but before further product application to keep my skin hydrated.
  11. Paul Mitchell Curling Wand.  I’ve become so spoiled by this set.  It gets extremely hot, which allows me to curl my hair faster than ever.  It comes with three different barrels to create different styles.
  12. L’Occitane Amande Almond Milk Concentrate.  This moisturizer is luxury in a jar.  Every time I introduce it to someone, they’re blown away by how silky the formula is…  Then how amazing your skin feels after it’s applied.  Bonus: the scent is incredible.
  13. Dove Body Wash.  I hate when I shower, then feel dried out.  I’ve loved Dove products for years (the only bar soap I’ll buy!).  Their body wash helps to keep your skin feeling hydrated and soft even after a super hot shower, like I like to take.  I recently tried their Deep Moisture Shower Foam and absolutely loved it.  It’s a lightweight foam that I use in place of shaving cream, but it still leaves my favorite Dove scent behind.

What are some of your can’t live without beauty products?  C’mon, I know you have some!  Leave them for me in the comments below!

Best of Instagram Tutorials Compilation Video

I’ve had to take a hiatus from my YouTube Channel since Halloween.  As you know, we have moved to Vancouver for Timeless.  Life has been so hectic with Matt’s filming schedule, so I decided to take a brief break from creating and posting videos.  Now I’m back!  I have several fun videos lined up over the next few weeks, but to kick things off I wanted to create a compilation of my Instagram tutorials.

Instagram Compilation Best of Hair and Makeup Tutorials angela lanter hello gorgeous

In 2015 and 2016, I created quite a few quick hair and makeup tutorials specifically for Instagram.  This compilation highlights the best of those videos.  All of these hairstyles are easy to recreate.  I only included one makeup tutorial in this compilation, which is my most popular Instagram video to date: my highlight and contour routine.  This particular Insta video was never a full length tutorial on YouTube, but if you’d like to see more highlighting and contouring videos, here are a few videos for you to check out:

If hair is more your thing, then be sure to check out my Hello Hair YouTube video playlist.  This playlist has all of my hairstyle tutorials in one place and there’s something for everyone.  I show simple techniques such as buns and french braids, as well as more difficult styles like the mermaid braid hairstyle.

If you’ve missed my YouTube videos, please leave a comment below and let me know!  Also, comment with the videos that you would like to see soon on Hello Gorgeous.

Easy 10 Minute Fall Makeup

Revlon Colorstay eye collection review tutorial || Fashion styles for women || angela lanter hello gorgeous

Now that we’re transitioning from Fall into Winter, I wanted to create an easy, everyday look that any woman can do in 10 minutes or less. I partnered with Revlon to create this look using their New ColorStay™ Eye Collection and new Revlon Kiss™ Balms.

Brows: This is the first thing I check off my list when doing my eye makeup. Using Revlon’s ColorStay™ Brow Pencil in Soft Brown I start at the base of my brows and work my way out. This brow pencil has an angled tip, which helps for quicker, smoother application. The formula is waterproof and lasts up to 24 hours, which is a major bonus for me. There’s nothing I hate more than my brows wearing off throughout the day. Once I’m done filling in and defining, I use the attached spoolie brush to work the product through my brows. This allows for a more natural, even look.

Eye Shadow: I started off by applying the Praline Revlon ColorStay™ Crème Eye Shadow with the built-in, tri-tip brush on my lid and worked the shade up into my crease. Then I applied the Vanilla Revlon ColorStay™ Crème Eye Shadow to my brow bone to add a gorgeous highlight. These cream shadows are waterproof, glide on super smooth and are long lasting, up to 24 hours. They can be used as an eye shadow base or worn alone, like I did in this look, as they provide gorgeous color payoff.  Each ColorStay Crème Eye Shadow includes a built-in brush which makes application a breeze for women like me, who are always on the go.

PS- These cream shadows also double as a stunning highlighter for under the brow, especially the Vanilla shade.

Eyeliner: Using the Revlon ColorStay 2 in 1 Angled Kajal™ Liner in Graphite. I created a soft yet sultry cat eye. This eyeliner is amazing because it takes the stress out of application. How? Because this liner has an angled tip, which allows for straighter, smoother application. It also has an attached smudger brush to easily create a smoky eye. I simply applied the liner beginning at the inside corner of my eyelid and worked my way out, creating a wing. I kept my liner thin on the inside then built the thickness gradually moving outward. Then I used the smudger brush to smoke out the liner for a sexy cat eye. This formula is waterproof, which makes it double as a long-lasting liner that goes on smoother than traditional liner. Last, I applied two coats of Revlon’s Ultimate All-In-One mascara.

Since this is a daytime look, I paired my soft cat eye with a red tinted lip. I applied the Revlon Kiss™ Balm in Crisp Apple. In Fall and Winter, my lips tend to dry out, so this super hydrating formula is exactly what I need. The natural fruit oils make this the best smelling lip crayon I’ve ever used… I’m not even exaggerating. The juicy colors provide a gorgeous tint to your lips that will pair with so many different makeup looks, or a no-makeup makeup look. Plus they have SPF 20! I want to collect all 6 shades just to smell delicious and make my husband want to kiss me all day long… Now I get why they’re named Kiss Balms, lol!

The finished look is perfect for daytime: work, school, whatever! Kick it up a notch (and turn some heads!) for nighttime by smoking out your lower lash line with the ColorStay™ Kajal Liner in Fig or Evergreen.

Leave a comment below and let me know if this is a look you would wear for daytime!
