Bedroom and Living Room Rugs for Hardwood Floors.
One of my favorite ways to give any room a facelift with only one purchase? A beautiful new area rug.
Seriously. A new rug can change up any room so fast.
I’m a big fan of area rugs. I use them in every room of the house.
You will find area rugs on my porches, on my hardwood floors, on my carpet, layered on top of other area rugs… You’ll just find them in every single part of my home.
Why? Because I feel that they class up a space.
Maybe you have ugly floors? Add an area rug. Need to keep the noise down from noisy footsteps? Add an area rug.
See what I mean? They’re fabulous.
And y’all obviously agree because I’m constantly receiving messages and questions about my rugs. So let’s take a look at my rug choices so your can have all of the info you need in one single blog post.
Master Bedroom
At our last house in Los Angeles, I had the Jaipur Living Regal Oriental Gray/Silver Area Rug under our master bed in a 9×12 size. We still own this rug and it remains one of my favorite that I’ve ever owned. This rug actually came to Nashville with us and lived in our master bedroom here for the past year:
Although I love this rug so much, I decided that a change would be nice with the dark floors and recently made the switch to this blue beauty:
This Spring, we switched out the master bedroom rug to the Freeling Area Rug from Boutique Rugs, also in a 9×12. This rug feels so lush and soft under your feet and ended up being such a fabulous improvement. Use my coupon code for 60% off sitewide: LANTER60.
If you’re new to Boutique Rugs let me give this one piece of feedback… Out of all the rugs I’ve purchased, Boutique Rugs quality is the best.
Guest Bedroom
When designing our guest bedroom, I wanted two things: neutral colors and cozy textures.
This off white braided area rug from Rugs USA is such a great find. We have this in a 8×10 and layered it over the 9×12 off white braided Maui jute rug for extra texture.
The thing I love about Rugs USA is that you can always find an active coupon code, which is a major win in my book. I’ve been super impressed with the quality of all of the rugs I have purchased throughout the years from Rugs USA.
Living Room
Probably my most asked about rug in the house is our living room rug.
This rug was a Home Depot purchase. I didn’t even realize Home Depot sold area rugs until I found this one!
It’s such a beautiful soft pattern in light grey that would work in just about any room.
The quality is fabulous too, but it is a lower pile, so not super plush to walk on, which is great for a high trafficked area like your living or family room.
Here is a closer look at the pattern of the rug. As you can see, we also layered this rug with the ivory Maui jute rug from Rugs USA.
Patio Outdoor Rug
We have four outdoor rugs between our front and back porches. I love a great outdoor rug because it feels like you’re bringing your indoor design outside.
Here are the rugs we are using in our outdoor living spaces:
You can see our pretty pink area rug in Kenny’s nursery in this blog post.
See below the full list of rugs I have used in our Los Angeles house, Nashville house and our townhouse in Ohio.
