Spring Clean Your Undies Drawer! Here Are the Bras and Undies I Wear Everyday – GTT

Hopefully you are at least halfway through Spring Cleaning in your house by now?  If not, here is a little inspiration to get you up and moving.

Spring cleaning is not just deep cleaning all the nooks and crannies in your house, it also includes purging all unnecessary clutter and unused items.

Let’s chat about your underwear drawer.  When was the last time you cleaned it out?  I do a deep clean and purge at least once every six months.  I purge any undies or bras that are uncomfortable or I don’t wear.

Here’s your reminder to get your butt in gear and to do the same!

So now, let’s talk about what pieces I actually keep in my drawer and wear every day.

my favorites

Cami Bra.  I’m wearing this as we speak.  It’s technically called a Brami because it’s a cami meets a sports bra.  I have it in the shade, “Ballet” in size: XS/S.  It’s become my favorite thing ever the past few weeks.  I wear it as my sleep top or sleep bra.  I wear it as a cami alone or as a bra under tee shirts.  The comfort level is amazing.  I’m also ordering it in white and black since I know these will be worn basically daily all summer long.  Quick note- I have an incredibly short torso, so I was nervous about the straps not being adjustable.  The straps are so stretchy that it didn’t matter at all for me, which was awesome.

Everyday Bra.  During pregnancy, I really got away from wearing underwire bras.  After breastfeeding for 13 months, my breasts changed significantly.  This bra was a complete surprise to me.  I never expected that a non-adjustable bra (again, because of my weirdly short torso!) would become my go-to everyday bra.  Nor did I expect to love a front-closure as much as I do.  Yet here we are.  This is hands down the bra I reach for the most the past 6 months.

The Comfiest Strapless Bra.  Thats a big claim right there.  HUGE.  Because comfort and strapless bra usually don’t go in the same sentence.  But, this bra deserves that title.  When I wear it, I don’t even notice that it’s strapless.  It’s comfortable, but never slips down.  It stays in place all day long.  It has these grippies that help it from slipping.  Also it’s super lightweight, which is so awesome since we tend to wear strapless bras most often in the hot summer months.

Backless Bra.  I’ve tried more than my share of backless bra options and I keep coming back to this one.  I don’t like pasties because they do nothing to help with my (lack of) shape.  These are actual cups that help provide a little shape and create a little cleavage for smaller busts like mine.

Push-up Bra.  I’m very particular about push-up bras.  They need to be comfortable AND they need to not create that weird cup gap that you can see through most shirts.  That’s a tall order, because it’s been difficult through the years for me to find the perfect push-up.  This bra checks both boxes and is the reason I fell in love with Soma, well that and their INSANELY comfortable PJs.

only undies I wear

Last Fall, I set out to try all of the undies people claimed to be the best.  Here is a list of the pairs I tried:

CK signature cotton bikini

VS cotton bikini

wirarpa Women’s High Waisted Cotton Underwear

Amazon Essentials Women’s 4-Pack Lace Stretch Hipster Panty

Lululemon Namastay Put Hipster

Aerie boybrief

Auden (Target) Briefs with Mesh Waistband

Spanx Undie-tectable® Lace Hi-Hipster Panty

Thirdlove comfort stretch bikini

Auden (Target) seamless hipster

VS hiphuggers

VS stretch cotton hiphuggers (lace trim)

Commando CLASSIC SOLID TINY THONG

DKNY Modern Lace Sheer Hipster DK5014

Aerie Boy Brief

Only one of these were worth wearing again…  The Amazon Essentials!  I Ended up ordering SEVEN sets of them and threw out pretty much the rest of my underwear drawer.  I did keep some randoms undies, but my drawer is composed of primarily this one type now.  And I see no end in sight.  They don’t ride up or give wedgies.  They’re made from a soft, stretchy lace.  They wear great during that time of the month.  They’re honestly amazing.

  • I’m definitely checking out those undies! I’ve had such a hard time finding underwear that doesn’t ride up. I’m currently wearing low-cut briefs from FOTL, but they’re not very cute. These lace ones are ridiculously cute!

    • Angela Lanter

I hope you love them! Let me know how they work for you!

  • Jennifer Alexander

Some of my favorites bras are from Aerie. Their undergarments are so comfy. I do need to buy more sport bras though. You can never go wrong with a sports bra.

I love the VS plunge bra. I have been wearing them for years and they are so comfortable. I wear sports bras or wireless bras at night. This was suggested to me by my doctor bc I have fibrosistic breasts. I love Amazon underwear.

I just bought a wireless bra from Walmart this weekend and it’s honestly the best one I have. Full coverage and so comfy. I’m ordering the amazon undies now!!

  • Do those underwear show panty lines? That has been my biggest issue finding ones that didn’t show in like leggings or something right!

  • My favorite bra is B.Tempt’d. I am have a very small band and cup size. VS doesn’t carry my size and every other brand I’ve tried are not comfortable! I finally found these at Dillard’s. I have the same bra in all of the colors! My favorite undies are the seamless thongs from VS. I’ve heard a lot of girls say they either love them or hate them, but I love them! Especially since I wear leggings almost every day! No panty lines!

I’ll have to check that bra out! Thanks, Leah!

I never would have guessed the Amazon ones would be the best undies! I want new bras so badly but I’m still breastfeeding my 16 month old and I know I will be changing once we stop this journey. Now I have a go to for when I’m ready to buy more!

  • Lindsey Clayton

I have been wearing VS cotton bikinis for years and can’t get away from them for everyday wear. 🙂 I’m surprised by your review of the Amazon essential undies! I’ll definitely have to give them a try!

    • Angela Lanter

Whew knew Amazon would be where I bought undies. So crazy!

  • I needed this post! Thank you!
Definitely need to sort things out.

  • Brittany

I am dying to get the Spanx Bra-llelujah! It is so expensive but I know worth it. My fav undies right now are from Gap – the stretch cotton hipster. They are the only pair that fits well, doesn’t ride up and is SO comfy!

    • Angela Lanter

I love everything Spanx! They do no wrong in my eyes!

  • I have been spring cleaning and purging a lot lately too! I love Target’s Auden bras and undies!! I bought some the other day! Super cute designs! I love Aerie’s undies too!!

  • Mindy Diegel

My favorite bra is from Lily of France and it doesnt have any underwire and I love it. Still jas plenty of support without dwaling with the wire!

  • Aerie & Target undies are all I wear! I’ve then and so affordable ?

  • Nadya Voytovich

I have practically lived in sports bras since this shelter in place started. But thank you for highlighting some of your favs for us to check out. Now I need to find the motivation needed to clean out that drawer!

  • I’ll have to check out those undies! I like boy short ones maidenform at kohl’s they are comfy! I hate when undies rise up Does the cami bra work for people with bigger boobs? I like comfort, so it’s hard to find things that work for me. I definitely have to purge my undies drawer and pjs! I’d love to see a post of your favorite pjs/ comfy clothes. Mine are all old and falling apart!

    • Angela Lanter

I’m not sure how it would work on buster forms. Maybe look through reviews to see what others wrote?

  • Kelly Cabana

I just ordered those undies a month ago and love them! Pre-pregnancy, third love was my all time fav bra! I just stopped breastfeeding about a month ago and right now I’m still drying up and my boobs are different sizes…recommendations for that? I think I’ll go back to third love again—at least to try—but such a new phase for me!

    • Angela Lanter

It’s so hard to find one that fits after breastfeeding! You may have to grab a cutlet to help fill in the smaller boob.

  • My favorite undies are the 100% cotton thongs from J.Crew and Madewell!!! They’re solid colors, which are great and they’re super comfortable/breathable!

  • I have been looking for new bras. I forgot how frustrating it can be to look for comfortable ones. I’ve heard that Tru at Target is really comfortable as well and will be checking those out.

    • Angela Lanter

It’s so frustrating!! I’ve heard those are great too!

  • Cristina

Hi Angela, I am always looking for a good pair of bras and underwear. I have a disability and sometimes it’s a a lot of trial and error. When I am looking for the right bra and underwear ?. They need to be stretchy and I never really liked bras but I know there a necessity and once I hit my 40s I stopped wearing underwire bras! So what I have found recently and I found them on Amazon is the Hans oh so light comfort bra bought 3 colors they are so comfortable sometimes I forget I’m wearing them . For the underwear it’s Fruit of a loom low rise briefs breathable micro mesh. I love these so much I bought 2 sets of 6 .

    • Angela Lanter

I’m so glad you’ve been able to find some you like! It’s definitely a frustrating process!

  • Gemma Louise

I hate bra shopping, I feel like it’s such a chore! I’m bigger in bust size so support is a must and sometimes this can be hard to find in nicer/prettier bras. I’ve got a nicer collection now, but it’s still not a shopping trip I enjoy!

  • Definitely need to do this!!! This post gave me more inspiration and tips

  • These bras look super comfortable and practical I’m forever searching for a comfy/supportive bra as I’m like a double D so need something to hold them in lol so will definitely be checking out these ?

  • Catherine

Time to shop for panties cause those are CUTE! Even my daughter wants them and she’s tall enough now (5′ at 10 years old) that the women’s small will likely fit. Guess we’ll be buying some new undies. I have so many to toss out anyway so this was perfect timing.

  • I also have a short torso so I really appreciate you mentioning that. I often cannot but bras because I can’t get the straps tightened enough.
