If you’re planning your evening out with your man, then hopefully you’ll get an idea or two. If your man is supposed to be planning your night out together, maybe you should send him this blog post and hope that he gets the hint that he better be planning something special! 🙂 Valentine’s Day has always been special to me. I can remember from a very young age, my mom always made it memorable. She’d put a card and a special treat or gift in my lunchbox when I was little. She even still sends me a valentine in the mail every year as an adult. I learned to appreciate the day from her and try to make it special for Matt now too. Last year, we spent this holiday apart since Matt was already in Atlanta filming Pitch Perfect. This year we’re in the same city, but he’ll be working and we have a new baby… So I’m planning a special date night for us the weekend after and decided to share some of my ideas.

Valentine’s Day Date Ideas

  • Cooking at home. This is a great budget-friendly option that requires no reservations and no frustration with the service. I love the idea of surprising your significant other with their favorite meal that you’ve personally cooked for them. Kick it up a notch by finding ways to incorporate red, pink, or even hearts into different parts of the meal. Don’t forget fresh flowers on the table and candlelight for ambiance.
  • Go on a picnic. Picnics are incredibly romantic, weather permitting of course. Some restaurants or wine shops offer custom made or pre-made picnic baskets with paired wine. Such a fun idea!
  • Skating or Ice Skating. Who wouldn’t want to hold hands and couple skate like a couple of 8th graders? Bonus points for requesting an old school jam like something from Boyz II Men.
  • Recreate your first date. Love this idea! Ours would include someone nervously knocking over a full glass of water all over the table at Carabba’s… I’m not naming names here *cough* (Matt) *cough*.
  • Spa day. My very favorite way to spend an afternoon is having a relaxing spa experience with Matt. I love a great couples massage and unwinding in the steam room after. There’s nothing this tired mama would love more right now than to have a luxurious spa day to recharge and reset.
  • Movie night at home. But not just any movie night… Build a comfy bed in the middle of your living room floor and watch the first movie you ever saw together. Don’t forget his/her favorite takeout and dessert!
  • For the guys… This idea would make any girl melt. Leave the date night a complete surprise. Take her to Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry and pick out a special piece of jewelry together. Every time she sees this piece, she’ll remember the thought you put into this Valentine’s Day. I love the reminder that my special jewelry pieces are to me. On my right hand, I wear a beautiful ring that was my Mawmaw’s from the 1940’s. Every time I look at it, I think of her and smile. This Valentine’s Day, leave her with a smile by picking out the perfect jewelry piece together. Trust me, she’ll love this Valentine’s Day spent at Jared’s more than any other before.

I absolutely adore these Valentine’s date night ideas! My mama still gives me a card & gift too! Last year, I got a cozy pink shirt!

  • These Valentine’s Day date night ideas are terrific! I especially love the ice skating idea (I just hope I wouldn’t fall on my face, ha!) Great blog post!

I love all of these ideas! We have a toddler so we’ll be having an at home date on Valentine’s but thanks to my mom we were able to go on our first little getaway last weekend. I’m planning to cook my husband’s favorite meal and I love the idea of watching the first movie we ever saw together, that would be the movie Killers with Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl!
