This post goes out to all my fellow sisters that are members of the IBTC (Itty Bitty T*tty Committee).  It’s taken me years to embrace the fact that I have a small chest and be okay with it.  I was always made fun of growing up for being the tiniest kid in class.  I was underweight all through my school years and even weighed in at a solid 96 lbs. (on a good day) at my high school graduation.

In high school, I so badly wanted bigger breasts.  I started wearing water bras in my Sophomore year to add a little volume up top.  It made me feel a little more proportional (I’ve always had a butt) but one of my girlfriends spilled the beans and I was once again the brunt of all the jokes (I was used to it at this point lol).  I remember a cartoon floating around my classroom of me as Britney Spears, on stage performing, with a leak sprung from my water bra.

Needless to say, I’ve tried just about every cup enhancing bra out there.  I’ve owned every “Add A Cup”/Padded/Push-Up bra that Victoria’s Secret has ever created.  I’ve been so uncomfortable in my own skin because I was so convinced that I needed a fuller chest in order to be more feminine/womanly.  I’m not sure when the change happened in me, but one day I woke up and was just totally okay with my B-cups.  Here’s a few reasons why smaller breasts are fabulous, in case you too need to be convinced:

  • You can easily get away with bralettes and they’re totally a fancy accessory.
  • You have better posture with less weight in the front weighing you down.
  • You can wear pasties or cutlets and not worry about appearing saggy.
  • You can rock the deep-v styles (so in right now!) with ease.
  • You never have to worry about needing a breast reduction.
  • Button down shirt?  No problem!
  • Easier time picking swim tops because you can go with more versatile styles.
  • I’ve read that it’s easier to get massages and better sleep with smaller boobs.

Now I find myself gravitating towards the deep-v style tops, like this romper.  I like that I have the ability to wear this style comfortably.  I think there’s something just as sexy about a nice chest and clavicle as there is about cleavage.

I mean no hate for my full chested Gorgeous Girls.  There was a time when I wanted to be you, but now I’ve learned to be happy with what God gave me.  I also see nothing wrong with women who want to get/have implants.  If that’s something that makes you more comfortable with your own body, and you’re doing it for you, then I say more power to ya!

PS- If you’d like to see me do a post about my favorite bras and bralettes, leave a comment below and let me know.

Yes plz do a post on bras I am so in the Same boat you are in and I have began these years of growing up that small breasts aren’t bad.

  • Samantha H.

I love this post!! I have always felt awkward with my small breasts. Especially because I’m not thin, I look disproportionate. But at 22 I have learned to love them.

Ps. Yasss on the bra post!!!

    Thanks Angela!!

  • Ashley C.

Thank you for posting this. I barely weighed 100 pounds at my high school grad as well and I can’t even consider myself an A cup. Almost flat chested. I’m still not happy about that but you posting this did give me another outlook on it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I am 24 (and French so sorry if I am not speaking English correctly ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and I have always been happy with my large breast. But since last year I started to dislike my E cup, I felt fat and disproportionate. I have stopped wearing cleavage because I thought it was vulgar on me. But after reading your post I think I was feeling bad about myself because of the beauty stereotypes our societies give us, for me all the skinny models I see everywhere, for you it will be the Kim K and J.Lo perfection (big chest, small waist, big butt). I want to thank you for your post and particularly for your photos, you look powerful just because you assume your body (perfect if want my opinion). With this outfit I can see you in the south of France (Cannes or Monaco), at a beach bar looking at the sunset with a cosmo … I don’t why ๐Ÿ˜‰
Thank you again for reminding me that every type of body, every type of breast is beautiful especially when you are proud of it.

    • Angela Lanter

It really is stereotypes that cause us to feel that way! I’m positive that you’re beautiful just the way you are. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • I was a small B before I had my first baby. Went up to a D for the first six months after his birth then down to a C cup. Same happened with my second baby. They do look more like B’s than C’s and have only saged a little. I plan on having a baby #3 before I turn 35 maybe… Either way
At 35 I am getting a lift and possible reduction. I felt sexier with smaller boobs and would not mind being a B again or an A. I would love a post on bras as I tend to wear mostly sports bras and bralettes.

I would love to see a post about your favorite bras and bralettes. I have just recently become comfortable with my small breasts. It helped a little having two best friends with large breasts who shared all of the problems of having large breasts and were actually jealous of me. I have recently discovered stick-on bras and I LOVE them!

  • I can relate to this so much! I too used to want bigger boobs, but I found that with the right push-up bra and flattering neckline, I’m okay with what I have. Also, I would love to see a post about your favorite bras.

  • Thanks for your post! I am an A cup but sometimes feel flat chested. I grew up wanting bigger breasts but have realized I am happy way I am. I have big chested friends and they complain of aches and sometimes wish they werent so big chested. So I may get jealous of them at times but they get jealous of me too. I had a baby over a yr ago and maybe my breasts got slightly fuller or bigger but went back to way were prebaby. I probably would have slightly saggy breasts if I was big chested after having a baby. So I guess being small chested is a good thing. I think women should feel beautiful no matter what. We dont need to look like celebs to be considered beautiful. I would love a blog post or video about diff types of bras.

I would love to see a post on bras and bralettes. I can totally relate to this post. I have a very small chest to the point where I have to wear a small, medium or large. I was teased for being so darn skinny.

  • Such a great post and I would love to see a post about your favorite bras and bralettes ๐Ÿ™‚

  • ????
Also, I would love to see a post about your favorite bras and bralettes (you could also add in tips on how to wear bralettes if you don’t mind).
    Thanks!

  • Love this post! I have struggled so bad with this. My poor husband has had to listen to me cry multiple times from the frustration of wanting bigger boobs lol “oh honey you’re perfect just the way you are”..oh shut up lol you don’t know the struggle. It was actually just a few weeks ago that I finally took a deep sigh and said I’m just going to embrace being small chested. He had a huge sigh of relief himself haha

    • Angela Lanter

I’m sure! Our husbands think we’re sexy (duh, that’s why they married us!) so they totally don’t get why we’re unhappy with our bodies. It should be a compliment, but instead it just frustrates us even more (welcome to being a woman lol!)

  • I love that your blogposts are so honest. I can really relate to your story. I struggled with the same thing through my highschool jears. It took a long time before i had embraced being small chested. It’s really comforting to know that I am not the only one who struggled with this.
I’d love to see a video about your favorite bra’s.

Looking forward to your next post.

  • Love this post, I’m part of the club too! Up until after becoming an adult did I embrace that, we truly have more advantages ๐Ÿ™‚ Nothing wrong with what God gave me, even if it’s not proportional (small up top, wide below).

Yes I understand the post about small breasts, guys won’t give you a once look never mind a second look if they are small, I would rather have small ones than a pair of breasts hanging down at your ankles! yuk. I started weight training when I was about 17yr and I think because I have always exercised and kept myself healthy and fit mine have stayed small. I have bought a lot of push up bras over the years but I recently bought an open front V-dress which I wasn’t sure about as you can hardly see any cleavage, Chris said I look lovely in it and there is no chance of any boob escaping! ๐Ÿ™‚ x

If you’re happy with your body, then that’s all the matters! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Yes please do a bra post!! Esp on how to wear sticky bras, positioning for different outfits (clasped vs. non clasped). Also perhaps if you fashion tape anything to because you always look confident in what your wearing with no chance of falling out lol. I want to feel brave enough to enjoy wearing a romper like that.

  • I would love to read about your faves!! I was an A all the way until I was almost 20, when I guess my hormones caught up to my age, and I finally filled (most) B cup bras. The struggle is real, but I’ve learned to love them. I’ve always had a butt as well, so I’ve always felt out of proportion, but now I know how to use it to my advantage.

  • Oh my gosh! I just love this post! I am a member of the said the committee myself and your post is something I could totally relate to. I love all your points and tips and I would love to see you post on your favorite bras and bralettes!

    • Angela Lanter

Thanks April! I’m so glad you liked it!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Angela– your blog is inspiring. There are people you read about and wish you could just be friends with them and you are one of them. This post was an incredible encouragement to me! I see your pictures and think “gosh she’s so pretty” and never once thought about your chest size. But for some reason I think when people look at me all they think is “she’d be prettier if she had a bigger chest”. Thank you for the encouragement to be who God made us to be and love ourselves for it!

    • Angela Lanter

Thank you so much, Megan! Girl, your beauty is evident in just your comment alone. My Mawmaw always said, “Pretty is as pretty does” and she was one smart cookie! Thank you so much for being a part of the Gorgeous Fam! I hope you stick around on this journey with me. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Emily Liggett

I love this. I am still unhappy with my boobs, Iโ€™m between a 36A-and a 38B… Iโ€™ve always been insecure about everything. I hoped I would have bigger boobs after having a baby(almost 8m pp) because my mom went from an A to a D after having kids… but that just didnโ€™t happen for me.. if anything they got smaller. My husband loves me and everything about me. So Iโ€™m trying to be okay with it… I mean if he loves it, then why canโ€™t I? God made me this way for a reason after all!?
Ps. Iโ€™d love a post about bralettes

    • Angela Lanter

Hi Emily! You got it right, God made you exactly how He wanted you to be. No one could be you better. ๐Ÿ™‚

If there already ist such a Post, please feel free to Link me to it ??

    • Angela Lanter

I love wearing them with deep v or scoop neck tees so that the lace shows around the neckline. ๐Ÿ™‚
