How to Automatically Water Your Patio Plants and Hanging Baskets
This isn’t the prettiest blog post and photos lol… But it sure is helpful!
For years now, Matt has watered our outdoor potted plants with an irrigation drip system. Whenever people come over and see what he’s done they’re always so impressed. Drip systems are such a smart way of keeping your plants happy, especially if you travel often like we typically do.
Matt built our system himself because we wanted white tubing to match our porch. Unfortunately, white tubing is harder to find, but he did find it at Drip Depot.
To keep things simple, we found a few kits that have everything you need to put together a drip system. They’re easy to connect and save you so much headache. Check the links at the bottom of this post. They’re surprisingly affordable!
Essentially, the drip system attaches to the spigot on the side of our house. Matt ran the tubing up the side of the house, on to the porch and along the ceiling trim. You don’t even notice the tubing up there unless your looking for it. It’s so sleek and we never have to take down our massive hanging baskets to water them. WINNING!
The drip system makes our plants SO happy. I’ve never seen healthier planters than the ones on our front porch. If you have hanging baskets or outdoor plants on your patio or around your backyard or pool area, this is a very inexpensive way to automatically water them. It’s a set it and forget it method, sorta like a crockpot lol.

I am HERE for this post! It is such a pain to remember to water hanging baskets, and even worse having to ask someone to come water them for me when we go out of town. I will definitely be looking into this, thank you!
