Golden Greek Goddess Halloween Makeup Tutorial

Golden Greek Goddess Halloween Makeup Tutorial

It’s our favorite time of the year for YouTube…  It’s Halloween timeI love Halloween because I get to be so creative with makeup and create looks I wouldn’t usually wear.

My first tutorial of the season is this beautiful golden Greek goddess look.  This look differs from most of my costume makeup looks in that you could actually wear this for any occasion…  Just skip the metallic flakes, unless you want to rock gold flecks just for the hey of it.  Hey, you do you, boo boo!

LET’S CHAT MAKEUP

I primed my lids with the Marc Jacobs Coconut Primer.

I used the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in “Edgitorial.”  These Marc Jacobs palettes are among my favorite eyeshadow palettes because the shades are so lovely and highly pigmented.

As for the Colourpop shadows, I’m so stoked because Ulta is now carrying them.  You can buy the individual shadows here or you can buy this palette and get basically all the colors in it.  I used “Lightning Bug” on my lid and “Sequin” in my crease.

COVERGIRL gel liner worked perfectly for my cat eye.  Then I used Revlon Volumazing mascara which is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.  For concealer, I used Dermablend.  I’m just about out of this tube, I use it every day.  I set my face using the Charlotte Tilbury loose powder and lightly bronzed myself up with the Essence Matt Bronzer (nope, not a typo.  That’s how they spell it!)

I primed my skin using the Tatcha Silk Canvas Primer and then applied MAC Studio Fix Foundation, which offers a great medium coverage for every day wear.

Sadly, the Becca Cosmetics Light Waves Highlighter was a limited edition palette and is no longer available.  I hate doing that to y’all!  I loved the colors and didn’t think to check if it was still available to purchase, sorry!  I did find one available on eBay. 🙂

My lashes are “Athena” from TRU Lashes.  It appears that they too are sold out, which is a major downer because they’re truly incredible lashes.  A good drugstore dupe would be the Salon Perfect Fully Stacked lashes, they’re more fringe-y, but they’re oh-so-pretty.  I also think this pair from Ardell would be amazing.  For glue, I’m still 100% sold out to House of Lashes.  Best glue on the market, y’all!

For lips, I layered a Colourpop chocolate liquid lipstick and topped it with a gold lipstick from the COVERGIRL Star Wars Collection.

The metallic flakes I use are from Kryolan.  I picked them up at my local beauty supply store.  My earrings, bracelets and head piece are all from our local Halloween store.  You can find similar pieces here.

Thank you! I thought it was a fun one 🙂

  • Love this look Angela,

I have a costume party coming up – you’ve definitely inspired me with the gold glitter along the cheekbone!

That Essence bronzer is gorgeous – I’m so impressed by their brand, so affordable and they have some real gems! The Becca highlight (shame it’s limited edition!) and the golden glitter is perfect for this Grecian look.

Did you know that the ancient Grecians loved gold jewellery because it signalled wealth? Your pulled-back hairstyle indicated that a woman was married, while free-flowing long hair was reserved for single women! In case your readers are interested in the history of ancient Greek makeup and fashion, we recently published a piece on this topic:
