My Favorite Pieces From Dillard’s Exclusive Brand: Antonio Melani x M.G. Style

When I opened my inbox on Monday morning and saw the Dillard’s email announcing the exclusive brand collection from Antonio Melani and M.G. Style, my eyes just about popped out of my head.

With wedding season upon us, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.

This collection is such a vibe. Specifically, I mean it’s exactly my vibe.

The designs, styles, and prints feel like 30A style meets my favorite Nancy Meyers films. And your girl is here for it.😍

I arrived at my local Dillard’s store within ninety minutes of opening time and I was floored to see that the pieces had already been totally picked over. It was launch day! How in the world did so many people already know about it?!

Luckily, I was able to get my hands on most of the pieces I wanted to try on. Being the good little blogger I am, I filmed a try-on and shot some very low quality dressing room photos for you to browse.

Since the website shows the pieces on the very model-esque M.G. Style herself in exotic locations, I thought it would be fun to show you what the really look like in terrible lighting, without great shoes, and on a girl that looks like she literally just rolled out of bed.🤣

The Quality

I’d like to note, this entire exclusive brand collection is pricey, with the least expensive pieces coming in at $149 and the highest at $249. This doesn’t include the swim line or shoes since I didn’t try any of those on.

With the prices on the higher end like they are, you would expect great quality. This line does not disappoint. Everything is extremely well made using fabulous materials.

The Sizing

The one negative that I would like to point out is how inconsistent the sizing is.

Some pieces I was a solid size 0 in, others a 2, then maybe even a 4.

I’ve never had an issue with sizing. When shopping, I know exactly what size I am and can count on it, but this line is not that way.

I’m always a size 26 (lately a 27 😱 in denim) and a 2 in dresses.

I’ll dive into size specifics below with each try-on I share.

What I Bought

I came home with two outfits, both of which are totally dreamy.

The reason I ran to Dillard’s on Monday morning was I had an event to attend that same evening, so why not snatch up a fresh new look for it?

The photo below is the outfit I wore to the party.

I kid you not, I don’t think I have ever received so many compliments other than my wedding day, lol.

These pants are seriously unreal. The rope detail at the waist that tied in the back. They scream, “Beach Vacation Time” and I love it.

I’m wearing the x M.G. Style Nautical Rope Belt Detail Linen Blend Pants and Havana Crochet Lace Floral Crop Top both in a size 0.

The bottoms clearly run big as I would usually need a size 2.

The top was tight, I really should have gone with a 2, but they only had a 0 in stock so I just made it work… Until it didn’t, lol. As soon as I had Matt button up the top, one of the buttons popped off. I wasn’t even wearing a bra, so I really was surprised how tight it was on me considering I’m a size 32 in bras.

PS- I paired this look with the cutest pair of shoes. I’m wearing the Kairi heels from Dolce Vita.

Old Money Vibes

This one came home with me too.😍

T

I feel very “Old Money” the second I put on the x M.G. Style Sophia Linen Blend Gold Shell Patch Pocket Vest and Coordinating Linen Blend Skirt.

It’s so beach classy. The outfit screams Jackie O but also gives a nod to the beach inspiration with the gold seashell buttons.

I’m wearing a perfectly fitting size 0 in both the top and the skirt.

What I Didn’t Buy

My Favorite Pieces From Dillard's Exclusive Brand: Antonio Melani X M.G. Style. Fashion blogger Angela Lanter wearing the x M.G. Style Jenny Stripe Square Neckline Linen Blend Maxi Dress

The x M.G. Style Jenny Stripe Square Neckline Linen Blend Maxi Dress is an absolute dream.

I’m wearing a size 4 above and it was too long in the torso as well as dress length. I tried a size 0 and couldn’t zip it up, which is bonkers seeing on ow I was a size 0 in most of the other pieces from this same exclusive brand collection.

I loved the flowing straps in the back and striped linen material. This dress would be perfect to wear to a beach wedding, for beach photos, or even a graduation.

My Favorite Pieces From Dillard's Exclusive Brand: Antonio Melani X M.G. Style. Fashion blogger Angela Lanter wearing the x M.G. Style Jen Mock Neck Linen Blend Circle Cut Out Maxi Dress

The x M.G. Style Jen Mock Neck Linen Blend Circle Cut Out Maxi Dress was my least favorite dress.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the color and the detail, I just felt like the cut of the dress wasn’t figure flattering at all.

I’m wearing a size 0.

If I had to guess, I would say that the x M.G. Style Alys Linen Blend Voluminous Flower Top was the most anticipated launch from this collection.

It was my most disappointing try-on. But it was the most exciting name, since I’m pretty sure it was named for Alys Beach in 30A. 🫶🏼

I knew when I saw it on the mannequin (which I had to take it from to try-on, lol!) that I wasn’t going to like it.

Granted, it needed a good steaming.

Regardless, I didn’t love the way the flower laid. The top was so much more flattering in photos than it was in person.

I’m wearing a size 0 for reference.

My final try-on was one of my favorites, the x M.G. Style Nat Palm Drawing Linen Mini Dress.

This dress made me feel like Baby in Dirty Dancing.

Sadly, it didn’t get to come home with me.🥺

I’m wearing a size 0, which fit me, but was not comfortable. I needed a size 2 in order to feel comfy around the rib cage area, BUT the straps were way too long for me on the 0, so I can’t even imagine how long they would be on the size 2.

I’m still thinking about this dress and may very well order it in a size 2. Unfortunately, I already know that I would have to get it altered in order to fit me properly.

CONCLUSION

Overall, this was the most exciting fashion launch in years for me.

The entire collection just spoke to me and I haven’t gotten that excited about clothes in a long time.

Will you be buying any of these pieces? Which are your favorites?
