Probably the most sought after makeup look from real women is one that will work on an everyday basis.  A simple, beautiful look that can easily be recreated for work, school, church, any event really.  We girls have so much on our plates to keep us on our toes all day long, so an extensive makeup routine every morning shouldn’t be too complicated.

A simple every day look is created with a great BB cream, concealer, powder/bronzer, blush, brows, a little mascara and a lippie.  The one thing many women forget to include in their every day look is a highlighter.  I know, I know…  You don’t want even one more step to add to your morning routine.  Oh girlfriend, I’m here to tell you (and show you!) the perfect highlight can be done on the go and look positively glam.

You only need the Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix™ Highlighting Stick and about 60 seconds to get a gorgeous highlight and enhance your best features. This makeup stick allows for easy, fast and precise application…even on the go.  Here’s a quick step-by-step tutorial to get a natural highlight for the real woman.

First off, the Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix™ Highlighting Stick comes in two different shades: Gold Light and Pink Light.  The golden shade is a warmer color that beautifully complements bronzed makeup looks.  The pink shade is a cooler tone that’s beautiful on all skin tones.  I personally like to combine the two shades.

I like to apply my highlight as the final step.  Highlighting is used to bring out the high points of your face: cheekbones, bridge of nose, cupid’s bow, etc.  Using the highlight stick, I draw a line across highest point of my cheekbones and follow the natural curve of the bone structure.  If you need to find this point on your face, look at yourself straight on in the mirror.  Turn your head to one side and check out your profile.  See where the top of your cheekbone starts?  That’s where you should apply the product.  Use your finger or a damp makeup sponge to blend the product in place.  It builds well when layered to create a more dramatic look.  You can apply one stroke for a natural highlight or layer to your heart’s content, to have that highlight can be seen from outer space.  You do you, girlfriend!

For your nose, how and where you apply highlighter is dependent on what you want the outcome to be.  Generally, women want the look of a slimmer nose.  For this, apply a small amount of highlighter (I used just the edge of the stick) directly to the middle of the bridge of your nose.  You want a small line here because you’re going to blend it out.  Be sure not to apply to the tip of your nose, just the bridge.

Most of us want larger lips, right?  Right.  Applying a small amount of highlight to your cupid’s bow helps to create the illusion of a poutier pucker.

Lastly, I like to apply a small amount of highlighter to the inner corners of my eyes, my brow bone and my temples.  Highlighting the inner corners of your eyes can help to make you look more awake.  Now do you see why this step shouldn’t be skipped in your morning makeup routine?!

Call it highlighting or strobing…  Either way, I don’t feel fully made up without a little highlight to my face.  I love a dewy look and the Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Fix™ Highlighting Stick is the perfect item to get that look.  You can throw it in your makeup bag for a one-step highlight on the go.  It’s under $15 and budget friendly for all.

Alright, ladies.  Let’s see that highlight!

I didn’t have time to visit your blog and oh boy what a joy it is to finally sit and go through everything I’ve missed out!

I love highlighters soooo much! Haven’t seen the Revlon ones here in Russia, but I have the Benefit one and it’s great, though you have to be careful with blending because it’s liquid. I always put a little of highlighter (well maybe not a little, lol) to the inner corners of my eyes. It makes such a difference! Still amazed.

Btw, loved you latest snapchat pictures! Hope the weekend is going just as great as it looks!
