What I’m Wearing:
Forever 21 Ribbed High-Neck Dress ($14.90! Only left in white); also love this sweater dress and this sweater dress. Also, this mustard sweater dress // Dolce Vita Ohanna Over-the-Knee Boots (25% OFF! Almost sold out!); Dolce Vita Okana Boots (similar style, same color) also available here and here in “grey” as well // Knee-High Socks // Baublebar Sunbelt Drop Earrings // BP. Crossover Ring; similar style here // OPI Nail Polish in “Chocolate Moose”
I’ve never been able to wear yellow. I have yellow undertones in my skin and the shade makes me look like I have full-on jaundice. Let’s just say, it’s just not cute. Mustard, or amber, however, is a completely different story. Because of the warm undertones, mustard makes such a fabulous fall hue. I believe that this is technically considered “amber”, but I can’t seem to find a difference between the two colors.
When wearing a short dress during the cold seasons, my biggest concern is staying warm. I look for either heavier material or fuller coverage, and this turtleneck style is perfect! It layers adorably with a cardigan sweater and tights to keep warm. I chose to pair it with my favorite brown over-the-knee boots to stay warm. Skirts and dresses with OTK footwear can be tricky. If your hemline falls below the top of the boots, showing no leg at all, you will appear to have shorter legs and the look can be less than flattering. When wearing OTK or knee-high boots, be sure to leave at least a couple inches of exposed leg to show where the dress ends and the boot begins. By doing leaving a little visible leg, you’re creating the illusion of longer legs, which every woman wants!
You look so good in that dress its such a great colour, and those boots are super cute!!
