DIY Mother’s Day Lavender Vanilla Scrub with That’s A Gift Wrap!

Mother’s Day is only 4 days away!  EEEK!  What are you getting the precious mommas in your life?
If you’re on a budget this year, a DIY gift is your best option to give a meaningful gift that doesn’t break the bank.  I teamed up with the amazing Dominique from That’s A Gift Wrap to create these gorgeous little bath scrubs that any mom would love!
So if your mom loves to be pampered, keep reading to see how easy this adorable gift is to make!
Step 1: The Scrub
I didn’t have to buy a single ingredient to make the scrub…  It’s made of everything you probably already have in your kitchen!
1 1/2 cups Sugar
1/2 cup Coconut Oil
1 tbsp. Vanilla Extract
15 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Red & Blue Food Coloring to make Purple
Mix all ingredients together in a mixing bowl and set aside while you prep your pretty little glass containers or jars.  Here’s a shot of what we used to make ours:
Step 2: The Jars
What you’ll need:
One tiny square apothecary jar: $1.29
One large jar of bath salts (we liked the jar, so we dumped the bath salts out!): $3.00
Faux Lavender: $3.99
Burlap Ribbon: $4.99
Pink Ribbon (set): $2.00
Frame Embellishment: $1.50
Paper Flower (set): $2.00
For under $19.00 we created two beautiful decorated jars and had plenty of decorating materials left over. Essentially, you could easily decorate at least 7 small jars for under $25!  We bought everything at Michael’s Arts and Crafts.
Here’s a look at the finished project!
For the larger jar, Dominique used a hot glue gun to secure the burlap lace ribbon around the jar.  Then we broke apart the faux lavender and glued it on all sides of the frame.  Dominique then hot glued the frame in place.  After all the pretty little touches had a chance to set up and dry in place, we filled up the jar with scrub.  So easy!
For the smaller jar, we just secured the pink lace around the jar then the paper flower on top with a hot glue gun.  Easy peasy!
I love the way this craft turned out.  These pretty little jars would be an adorable addition to any mama’s bathroom counter!
Be sure to stop over and visit Dominique over at That’s A Gift Wrap and show her some love!

Where would you find paper lavender flowers?

Hi Nikki! The faux lavender we used was plastic and we bought it at Michael's Arts & Crafts. I don't recall seeing any paper lavender unfortunately.
