DIY Pumpkin Flower Pot

DIY Pumpkin Flower Pot
I love Fall.  I love the changing leaves, the colors, the hot cocoa.  I love that we have a reason to wear boots and sweaters.  Winter though?  Now that’s a different story.  I’d like to skip Winter altogether.
I’m starting to pull out all of my Fall decorations to get my house all cozy for the season, and I decided to put together this cute little DIY.  It was so simple to create and makes for an adorable table centerpiece!  It cost about $22 to make, but if you choose to use a real pumpkin, it will be a whole lot cheaper.  This took about 5 minutes to create!
I really enjoy mums.  I love all the vibrant colors they come in.  I really wanted purple for this project, but couldn’t find any in the right size unfortunately.
I chose a medium sized faux pumpkin from Hobby Lobby for this craft.  You could easily use a real pumpkin, but I like that this won’t wilt and get stinky in the Los Angeles heat we’ve still got going on.  I used a pencil to trace a rough circle the size of the flower pot.
Because the pumpkin was made from a foam material, it was hollow inside and easy to cut with a craft knife.  Be sure that if you’re using a faux pumpkin, that you’re picking up a hollow one or else this project will be 100x’s more complicated!

Drop your flower pot inside and you’ve got just about the cutest little Fall centerpiece ever!  So easy and so fun!
