Back in July, we made the long drive from Los Angeles to Vancouver.  Matt & I were both excited to take on the West Coast.  Honestly, there are so many more incredible places to see and explore in California than I ever even realized.

The first night of the trip we stayed in a very underwhelming hotel in Big Sur.  We really wanted to stay at Post Ranch Inn, because we heard so many incredible reviews, but it was totally booked.  The next morning, we spent about an hour exploring Carmel-by-the-Sea and totally fell in love with it’s charm (see photo here).  I definitely want to go back and stay at Doris Day’s hotel.

The second day of travel, we stopped for lunch in San Francisco then headed up to Wine Country for the night.  We used Hotel Tonight (coolest app, and no, this isn’t sponsored!) and found the most amazing little resort tucked away deep into Sonoma at an amazing price.

Kenwood Inn and Spa Sonoma, CA wine country stay angela lanter hello gorgeous

Caudalie bath shower beauty products Kenwood Inn and Spa Sonoma, CA wine country stay angela lanter hello gorgeous

We spent the night at Kenwood Inn and Spa.  I wish we had more time there to enjoy the spa, but we were on the move (literally).  When we pulled up and saw the gorgeous Tuscan style inn covered with ivy, nestled in the middle of wineries as far as the eye could see, we felt like we were back in Italy.  It was absolutely a dream.

We walked into our room (upstairs level with pool view) and were blown away with how incredible it was.  The room was so spacious.  The gorgeous white bed was plush and inviting.  The sitting area in front of the fireplace made you want to settle in for days.  The balcony had an adorable table and chair set overlooking the pool.  The staff had a bottle of champagne waiting us for us on ice.  After our stay at Kenwood, I’m totally convinced we need heated floors in our bathroom…  Now, I just need to convince Matt!

Our room and bathroom had a very luxurious, spa feel.  When I spotted the Caudalie shower products, that was it.  Stick a fork in me, I was done.  A hotel after my own heart.  I love Caudalie.  It was the perfect touch to a great overnight experience.

We had both dinner and breakfast at the Inn.  Both meals were fabulous.  The grounds were meticulously groomed.  Everything about Kenwood was a dream.  If you are planning a trip to Wine Country anytime soon, be sure to check out this hotel.  It’s honestly in my top 5 hotel experiences, and believe me, I’m a hotel snob.

This cute little romper is what I wore to dinner with my hubs (photo here).  It’s made from the softest tee shirt material and is so comfy.  Honestly, I would wear this romper every day of my life, it’s that comfortable.  It’s rare to find a romper with a turtleneck, the turtleneck is exactly what caught my eye.  I love that there’s a cut out in the back for a touch of sexiness.  This romper is perfect for a date night.  It was a bit chilly at night in Wine Country (it’s Northern California, duh Ang) so I threw on a sweater.  FYI: My outfit is a bit wrinkled…  We were living out of a suitcase, lol.

I love wearing my hair in a top knot with high neck/turtleneck style tops.  I haven’t filmed a YouTube tutorial on this bun yet (leave a comment below if that’s something you’d like to see me post!)  But click here for a tutorial for the perfect messy bun in under 2 minutes.

My Wine Country Outfit:

Sizing Info:  Wearing romper in size Small.

    Yes on the tutorial!

  • I loved reading this post! I just got back from 2 weeks in Italy and France and am thinking ahead to my next vacation! I stayed at the Caudalie Resort in Bordeaux. If you the vineyards of Northern California and Caudalie products, you have to go here. The hotel is situated on a beautiful vineyard. Their spa is also unbelievable! Highly recommend!!

My mom and sister had mentioned going to Vegas for my 30th birthday next early next year to see Britney or BSB. It sounded fun, but since I’m not a huge drinker/partier/gambler I wasn’t sure what we were going to do the rest of the weekend! This post inspired us to plan a trip to Kenwood Inn instead! I think we are going to hang out in San Fran for a bit and then head up to Kenwood for some relaxing spa/girl time! Kenwood looks amazing. Thanks for the recommendation!
