Drinking water is one of those things that most people forget to take seriously. We know we need to do it. We know how much we need to drink every day. And yet, we somehow neglect to drink enough most every day. I speaking generally here, there are exceptions of course.
I drink more water than most people I know. I’ve always been big on hydration for many reasons. One big reason is to prevent headaches. I’ve been prone to headaches (and migraines) for as long as I can remember. I’ve noticed that I’m a lot less likely to get a headache if I’m drinking enough water and consuming a small amount of caffeine daily.
Another B I G reason I find hydration to be so important is how much better my skin looks. When I’m dehydrated, it shows in my skin. My skin looks dry and lacks glow. Hydration puts the moisture back into my skin, helping me to look healthier. I also find that my complexion is clearer when I’m drinking adequate water.
The general rule of thumb for hydration is most people need 8 glasses of water, 8 oz. each, per day. If you want a more accurate idea, then simply divide your body weight in half. For instance, I weigh 110 lbs. Half of my weight is 55, so I need to consume 55 oz. of water per day.
In the summer, it’s even more important to stay hydrated, especially if you’re working or exercising outside. You can find the water tracker I designed below for my Gorgeous Girls. I challenged my GGs to drink their daily water for one solid week to see if they felt different and if their skin looked any different. I’m so excited to hear everyone’s results next week!
Are you taking the challenge with us? If not, I hope you’ll consider trying it out next week! Let me know in the comments either way. 🙂
