Coconut Oil Beauty Benefits

Coconut Oil Beauty Benefits

Some of you may already know all about coconut oil and have been using it forever. But some of us are new to the coconut oil game.. I sure am! I’ve been reading about the wonders of this oil on Pinterest for at least a year now and I’m not sure what took me so long to give it a try. But try it I have.. Coconut oil is amazing!
I ran over to my local Whole Foods and bought their brand of organic refined coconut oil.
Let’s talk about some of the beauty benefits of this precious oil..
Coconut oil is antibacterial and anti-fungal. Some women use coconut oil to cleanse their faces. It can be used simply as an eye makeup remover- my mom has used baby oil to remove her eye makeup my entire life. Recently, I’ve been using coconut oil to make a facial scrub. I combine a palmful of coconut oil with brown sugar (or salt). I apply it to my dry face and lightly rub it in circles all over my face for about one minute. Then I rinse it off with cool water.. Voila! Beautiful, smooth skin! You can make bigger batches for a body scrub. You’ll love how your skin feels after, it leaves behind just the perfect amount of oiliness to keep your skin feeling moisturized.
Coconut oil is an amazing moisturizer. A lot (if not all) of moisturizing products on the market contain coconut oil so why not just use the main ingredient?! It makes a fantastic body and facial moisturizer. The past couple of nights, I strayed from my nightly skin routine and used only coconut oil for moisturizing. I’m really happy with the results so far. But keep in mind that a little bit goes a long way. So start off with a little oil and add more as needed. You can also use it as a lip balm but I still prefer my Rosebud Salve results over the coconut oil.
Coconut oil can also be used on your hair. You can use it as a deep conditioner on your dry hair or as a leave-in conditioner right out of the shower. I prefer to use coconut oil as a deep conditioner. You can use a tiny bit to smooth away those flyaways on your dry hair or on the ends of your clean, wet hair as an anti-frizz serum replacement.
Use coconut oil to soothe your dry hands in the winter. Cover your cracked, dry feet with coconut oil and some soft socks at bedtime and wake up with much softer tootsies!
I’ve read several places online about using coconut oil in place of shaving cream.. I’ve not tried this one yet but if you have, how did it work for you?
So ladies, if you haven’t tried coconut oil, then give it a shot! What are your favorite beauty uses for coconut oil? I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks for sharing these great ways to use coconut oil. It is amazing that it can be used for so many purposes and works with all different skin types without being overly greasy. I've had shrimp cooked with coconut oil as well and it adds a nice flavor and the health benefits aren't bad either!
