The idea of the monthly mail beauty boxes is so charming to me.. At first. Then I get the boxes for a couple of months, and they lose their novelty. I first tried Birchbox, and stopped after maybe about 6 months. I decided to switch to Ipsy. Then I stopped Ipsy after maybe the same amount of time (or maybe even less.) The idea of getting new beauty products to try monthly is exciting, but I find that usually about 75% of the box’s contents are products from brands I’ve never even heard of before. So that’s when I lose interest.
Back a couple of months ago, I heard about GLOSSYBOX and posted on my Instagram about it. My gorgeous girls mostly said that they really like it and to give it a try. So I signed up eventually. The price tag threw me a bit at $21 per month for one box, when you can buy Birchbox and Ipsy for only $10 per month (last I heard at least.) But I decided to not be cheap and order anyways. So what do you think? Is it worth the $21 per month? Is GLOSSYBOX truly better than Birchbox or Ipsy? In my opinion, no and yes/no. In fact, I’ve already cancelled my subscription to GLOSSYBOX. I love the packaging, but the products were just okay at best. I wasn’t overly excited about anything I received (as you can probably tell in the video.) I’d rather keep my $10 or $21 per month and put it towards trying a new full size product or two (or maybe even several) from brands that I know and trust. I’m just thinking that the whole monthly beauty box subscriptions are just not for me. I prefer the Ipsy bag out of the three brands I’ve tried because for $10 per month you get a little makeup bag filled with goodies. I think that you get the most bang for your buck with Ipsy.

That was a great box! I'm actually also subscribed to Glossybox in France but seriously thinking about cancelling it. The thing is, in the US, most of the monthly boxes come with full-size products (except for Birchbox) and are sometimes really cheap like Ipsy where you get like 4-5 FULL-SIZE products for only $10 a month! In France, any subscription box costs at least 15€ a month (about $20) and the products are almost sample-size. Sometimes you get full-size products with some boxes but when you do, it's mostly shower gel, soap or shampoo from the drugstore so really useless! Now that I've seen your video I'm seriously considering cancelling my Glossybox subscription! I mean, for $21 you got 5 full-size products and for pretty much thr same price I got 5 sample-size products so…yeah, kinda sucks. Anyways, I'm looking forward to the day when Ipsy comes to France, hopefully it will allow us, French women to enjoy the same monthly boxes as u do 🙂
