Happy Mother’s Day to all my mama readers out there! I hope your day is filled with lots of love, laughs, good food and precious memories.
I just wanted to take some time to dedicate today’s post to a few special women in my life.
I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for my mom. She’s the most giving person you’ll ever meet. She has taught me what love is… Not the fluffy, give-it-only-when-you-receive-it kind of love, but the real, true love. The kind of love that sticks things out. She takes time out of her day, every day, to visit my Mawmaw, and it’s been that way for as long as I can remember. She’s always putting others first, she’s always serving. I pray that as I get older, I become more and more like her. Love you, mom!
We can’t forget Mawmaw. All of my friends throughout life know her and call her Mawmaw and I love that. It’s because she plays grandma to anyone who walks through her door. She’ll be the first to kiss you hello and always the first one on the dance floor. I’ve always been incredibly close to her, I even had a bedroom at her house growing up because I spent so much time there. There’s no relationship like the one between a grandparent and grandchild. I hope everyone has a Mawmaw in their life. 🙂
This photo is probably my favorite that Matt has ever taken. It’s crazy how similar our hands are.
Three generations of hands, three generations of love.
And last is my mother-in-love… Doesn’t that just sound so much sweeter than in-law? I did a little research and found that some Christians have been referring to their mother-in-law’s as their “mother-in-love” for 300 years. We marry out of love, right? So our in-laws are now family by love, not just law. I love that thought!
Jana has been in my life now for going on 7 years and I can’t even believe it! Where has the time gone?! Although we live miles apart, I want to honor her on Mother’s Day for not only being my Mother through marriage, but for raising a son who has been the biggest, most wonderful blessing in my life. It’s because of his upbringing that I have such an amazing husband and beautiful marriage.
Take time today to love on the sweet mothers in your life and cherish every moment you have with them. Sending love to all the Gorgeous Mama’s this Mother’s Day!
What a lovely post, Angela! I especially love how you address your Mother in Law too 🙂 And your Mawmaw is the cutest! Gotta love grandmas, they're just that extra bit special always haha.
