VIDEO: “Modern Mod” Eye Makeup Tutorial

VIDEO: “Modern Mod” Eye Makeup Tutorial

If y’all don’t know, now you know..  I’m a mess for Elvis & Priscilla.  I grew up on Elvis’s music and movies, so I’ve always thought that Priscilla was the most beautiful woman ever.  So why not recreate a makeup look that is 60’s mod inspired?
Check out my video below to see me create a “Modern Mod” makeup look complete with the classic 60’s “Mod” eyes and nude lips.  I had so much fun creating this look!  I used to love watching movies from the 1960’s just to see how the women did their hair and makeup and even what they wore.  It was such an iconic era!

WOW how do you get your skin look so flawless??I really LOVE the eyes here but I defentily want to try the makeup look you used in this video!!I You should definitley do a tutorial!!
I always have circles under my eyes and I just cannot find a concealer that works for me…any recommendations? And I also have kind of huge pores which are really bothering me!!How can I get rid of these?!

I really LOVE your blog!! Keep up the good work!

    XO Lisa

Thanks, Lisa! My updated highlight and contour video that I posted yesterday is the routine I used in this video. Concealer wise, my favorite brand is Kat Von D Tattoo and foundation wise, I love Cover FX. When I use Cover FX cream foundation, I don't have to use concealer. The only trick that I know of is using a good quality primer to help fill your pores prior to your foundation. I just bought the Cover FX primer and like it, I'm also a big fan of the Smashbox Photo Finish primer. I hope this helps! xo

The highlighting tip was great! I love using items for more than their intended purpose. Where did you get your "love" ring?

    • AngelaLanter

Thanks! The ring is from the cutest little store named Laurenly. You can find them on Instagram or Facebook.

Great tutorial! What lip color are you wearing in this? I would also love to see a tutorial for the rest of your makeup from this video too 🙂

Thanks! I'm wearing elf lipstick in "Natural Nymph" and wearing Whitening Lightning's lipgloss in "Nude" on top. 🙂

  • Love this. Totally easy enough for me to do and recently got some shadow sticks and plan on using a variation of this with them. great idea. Gorgeous as always.

This is going to sound like such a weird thing to complain about but the background of your videos freaks me out and messes with my eyes a bit. Don't think I'm quite used to the purple backdrop, most youtube vids I watch have a bedroom or another room as the background and it kinda allows me to focus more on the person in front of the camera. Weird comment I know, but thought I'd mention it

Unfortunately, I don't have a room to film with the space to make a pretty bedroom background or something like that. I would love it if I did though!

Mascara is terrible and clumpy. But other than that, makeup looks good 🙂
