I know, I know.. It’s December. For some reason though, Nawlins doesn’t seem to understand that it’s Christmastime. Yesterday it was a very muggy 79° here which meant I couldn’t bear the thought of layering up for a winter look in all that heat. Instead, I chose to rock my new favorite pair of printed slacks from Foreign Exchange.
If your closet doesn’t have a pair of printed pants in it, then get on it girl! They’re just so fun! You can totally layer up the perfect pair of printed pants with a warm sweater and booties for winter.
After these photos, my hubby & I took a trip to the WWII Museum which was so cool. If you take a trip down here to New Orleans, make sure you don’t skip the WWII Museum and the “Beyond All Boundaries” movie.. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding and new appreciation for what our country went through. Both my Husband and my grandfathers served in the war, so it was really special to learn more about that time period for us.
Here’s how I styled my printed pants yesterday in the nasty humidity. Whenever I’m wearing high-waisted bottoms, I prefer to wear midriff style tops. I have an extremely short torso but crazy long legs (for my height). If I pair a regular length top with high-waisted pants, it does nothing for my shape. By allowing a little gap between your top and bottoms (when wearing high waists) you create the illusion of longer torso (which girlfriend needs help with!) So if you’re not comfortable with showing a little tummy, then skip the regular length tops (that land mid-waist) and pair your printed pants with a longer (think tunic length) comfy sweater. You want to go extreme with high-waists, either crop top or longer length shirts to cover the tushy and skip over the in-between lengths.
