Hello Bump Recap: 8 & 9

This week has been one of those weeks. If you follow me on Insta-stories, then you know why this post is late… My computer crashed.  And it was totally my fault.  I had the bright idea to clean fly guts from the area where my screen meets the keyboard with Windex.  The cleaning was a success, but I unfortunately burnt out my monitor.  Talk about frustrating.  I have now been laptop-less for a week and I feel like I’m going crazy lol.

On to the podcast!  Monday we released episode 8 in which we’re covering week 13 of pregnancy.  Depending on who you ask, second trimester begins on week 13 or week 14.  We were so excited at the prospect of second trimester, so we took the liberty of believing we crossed that landmark at week 13.  This week, we had our second trimester OB appointment and ultrasound.  Matt believes he saw the gender in the ultrasound and the ultrasound tech confirmed that she knew the gender…  But we have to wait for my blood results to come back before we find out for sure.  Personally, I love the gender guessing game.  Using old wives tales to try to figure out the gender is just all in good fun…  I think it sorta drives Matt crazy though, lol.

We also chat about the Zika virus threat and prenatal vitamins.  Then I uncover my weird obsession with polygamy based shows…  I just so badly want to understand the psychology behind the lifestyle.  Just to clarify, not the disgusting marriage of underage girls to old men.  I’m talking along the lines of the tv show, Sister Wives.  It’s such a foreign concept to me and something that I would never be able to do.

Listen here to episode 8:

Next up we have episode 9 which is week 14…  So we are officially official with the second trimester claims!  I rate my first trimester as a F, but Matt thinks it’s not as bad I do.  Easy for him to say!

I’m also taking you through our move process and our hectic schedule leading up to our vacation in Florida.

Do you have any travel traditions with your hubby?  I talk about our Facetime tradition and how much more safe it makes me feel.

We also chat about my first flight since being pregnant and the precautions we took.  In case you’re interested, these are the travel compression socks I wore on the flight.  I feel like they really did make a difference in my flight experience.

Also, anyone else love Raising Cane’s and Zaxby’s as much as I do?!

I wanna hear how you shared your pregnancy news with your friends and family!  Leave a comment below and tell me your story!

Listen here to episode 9:

As you may have noticed, we did not upload yesterday, on our regularly scheduled day due to the holiday.  There will be a brand new episode of Hello Bump available tomorrow morning per our usual upload schedule.  🙂

A couple weekends ago, our good friends Jason and Lauren Kennedy came up for a visit from LA and we got to show them a bit of our new life here in British Columbia.  Naturally, the first place we thought of to take them was Whistler.  Matt and I love it there so much!  Leave a comment below if you want me to do post a Whistler Travel Guide (like my 30A Travel Guide!) soon.

I love heading up North and experiencing the breathtaking landscapes, great food and just fresh air.  I took plenty of layers and cute outfits, but wanted to share this look I wore to our Sunday morning brunch.  The weather was cool, but this outfit was absolutely perfect because the morning sun was out and so warm.

Brunch is one of those occasions that I always second guess myself on my outfit.  I never know if I’m going to be too dressed up or dressed down, but this look is brunch perfect.  Denim helps to keep the look casual while the wedge booties, feminine fringe sweater and loose curls added the perfect balance to the look.  I have quite a few girlfriends who text each other before going out to see what each other is wearing to make sure they’re appropriately dressed.  For brunch I totally get why you would do that…  But I’m just not one of those girls who likes to base my outfit off what other’s are wearing (in most situations).  Is anyone else like that?  I guess I just always want to do (and wear) my own thing.  There are exceptions, such as weddings, but for the most part, the thought never even crosses my mind to ask anyone else what they’re wearing.  I’m too busy figuring out what I’m going to put on myself (and Matt usually, LOL!).

That’s where Nordstrom fits into the mix.  Nordstrom is my absolute favorite place to shop for everything from fashion, to accessories, beauty and even home.  I can run into Nordstrom and walk out with exactly what I wanted and so much more.  It’s the best place for Fall fashion because of the awesome selection of sweaters, jeans and boots.  I love that I can depend on Nordstrom for my look, from head to toe!

What I’m Wearing:

Hinge Fringe Sweater Vest (Comes in 3 colors!)  //  Treasure&Bond Long Sleeve Rib Tee (Comes in 3 colors!)  //  AG “The Legging” Ankle Jeans (My favorite skinny jeans EVER!)  //  Dolce Vita Wedge Booties; also LOVE these booties!  //  Tan Tassel Handbag (similar)  //  Le Specs Halfmoon Magic Sunnies

Sizing Info:  Wearing sweater vest in “One Size”, shirt in size XS, jeans in size 26 and booties in US size 7.

Fall Sweaters Under $100

According to social media, everyone loves Fall.  Maybe it’s because of Football season?  Or is it because of all things “Pumpkin Spice?”  Maybe it’s Halloween?  Personally, I think it’s the opportunity to layer clothes and wear cozy clothes.

The cooler temps mean it’s officially sweater weather.  Sweater weather means it’s time to stock up your closet with new cozy sweaters and cardigans.

There are definitely sweaters that I like to splurge on, but there are others that I want to be more budget friendly.  That’s why I chose to do this post…  To give you a list of 13 great sweaters all under $100.  I have actually purchased 6 of these sweaters myself!

The biggest sweater trend I’ve noticed this season is off-the-shoulder sweaters (see this post for inspo).  I’m a big fan of anything off-the-shoulder, so I’m happy to jump on this bandwagon.

Another trend I’ve been seeing and loving, is extra long sleeves.  What I mean by this is sleeves that cover your hands (like in this photo I post last night on Instagram) or hang beyond your top layer by several inches.  I love this trend because it helps keep your hands toasty in cold weather, acting sort of like fingerless gloves.  And let’s be real…  I just like to be cozy at all times.

The final trend I want to talk about is chunky turtleneck sweaters.  The sweater I’m wearing in this photo is my current favorite cozy turtleneck that I’m totally in love with (although technically it’s mock neck, not turtleneck).

This round-up has so many great sweater options.  There’s something for every type of girl with every type of style taste.  I love that there’s even a hot pink sweater for the bright color lovers out there!  There are no fashion laws, so if you want to wear bright colors, white jeans, or whatever this Fall…  You do you, boo boo!
