Fall Fashion Staple Pieces

fall fashion travel staple pieces angela lanter hello gorgeous

It crazy to think that Fall is already upon us.  In only one short week, it’ll be September again.  With September comes cooler temps for most areas, so now is a great time to prep your wardrobe for the upcoming autumn weather.  I’ve highlighted several fall staple pieces that every woman should consider adding to her wardrobe.  Please leave a comment below with your fall staple pieces and why you can’t live without them!

Trench Coat:  This Burberry trench is a classic piece that will forever be in style.  The lovely shade of beige couldn’t be more neutral and goes with everything in your closet.  It’s the perfect outwear piece to transition from summer to fall and then again from winter to spring.

Blanket Scarf:  These scarves are the coziest accessory every created.  I’m a huge fan of blanket scarves (see this post and this post).  This scarf is a must-have because you’ll wear it the entire fall and winter.  In fact, chances are that you’ll pull it out to style again next year!  Watch my Blanket Scarf Tutorial to see several different ways to wear this fabulous accessory.

Distressed Jeans:  Skinny jeans are great all year, but especially in fall to be styled with over-the-knee socks and boots.  This pair is great because they’re reasonably prices (under $100), not too distressed and come in a great medium wash.

Booties:  I’ve been eyeing these babies because I love that they cover your ankles (no frostbite, please and thank you).  They come in three different shades and have a decent heel height (just under 4″).

Over-the-Knee Socks:  I’ve loved the OTK sock trend for at least 5 years now.  I tend to take good care of these, as they’re more expensive than your typical socks, and keep them for seasons to come.  This pair is a great neutral color that would be adorable paired with black leggings and cognac knee-high boots.

Leopard Clutch:  When heading out on a date night, I typically opt for a smaller crossbody bag or clutch.  This leopard print clutch is just fun, because that’s the best word to describe it.  It would be great with any monochromatic outfit.  I always say my favorite color is leopard print, haha!

Peep Toe Sandals:  Some fall days are still warm enough (depending on where you live) to don your tootises.  I love this style sandal because it’s love child of our beloved ankle boots and summer sandals.

Leopard Print Scarf:  Because it’s leopard print.  That is all I have to say about this one.

Sweater:  I love a good turtleneck or mock neck sweater to get me through the colder months.  This sweater is a steal at under $50 and is available in 4 different colors.

Cardigan:  Another great piece to get you through the colder months.  This sweater layers so well to keep you warm.  It’s the perfect travel piece because you can easily put it on or take it off (airplane temps are finicky, am I right?!).  It’s also a great price at under $50 and comes in 4 different colors.

Luggage:  A great suitcase is an investment I think every woman should make.  I suggest this purchase for fall because chances are, based on statistics, you will be traveling at some point over the holiday season…  Whether that be for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or all of the above.  Needless to say, a piece of luggage that you love is a smart buy.
